In Psalm 86: 10 the Psalmist says…
“For He is great and do marvelous deeds; He alone is God”
Here goes the complete story !
A couple of months ago my dad was not keeping well in health. Though we knew it was a common flu, the situation around had put a sense of fear in our hearts and definitely his recovery was in our prayers. Fear continued to persist as we did not see his health get better.
Its during this time the verse mentioned in Psalm 86:10 quietly came my way.
Throughout the Old Testament we read about many marvelous works of God that encourage us. But on that day after reading Psalm 86, the instance that I came across was the passage where God parted the sea so that Joshua and all the Israelites could pass through the sea to cross the Jordan river. And following which was the fall of the walls of Jericho.
A similar instance occurs in OT where, God had parted the sea when the Israelites were leaving Egypt. Both the instances highlighted the mighty power of God that had never changed. It showed His constant love and constant control He claimed over His children’s life.
I could sense a calm and pleasant wave in my heart and the Holy Spirit reminding me about the constant and never diminishing mightyness of God.
In the initial days we as a family had begun our journey of encountering Christ through the miraculous healing that Christ brought in my dad’s life. Now when my dad was going through the same phase again God beautifully reminded me that He would display His goodness again and heal my dad even better than before. It is His nature of being constant in all seasons is what gave me hope.
Claiming the assurance, our prayers were now more intense with faith. Like the way God had comforted, my dad was recovered and he was back to much better health than before.
Through that phase all that I learned was, God allows certain trials to reveal to us about His attributes and remind us that He is an All Mighty God. Durinf that season, I learned that He is a never changing God and that He is powerful from Ancient of Days.
I do not know if you are going through the same trial repeatedly or if the trials that you are facing gets tougher day by day. All that I want to encourage you is, He is a CONSTANT God. Whose power never changes, whose heart never changes. He will do the miracle He did to you in your previous days. Trust in Him. He is listening to us as we speak and watching over us as we move. He is in control.
Our God is a living God.
